Meet Sara Fry, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

As a therapist in the Modesto, Ca area, when I you work with you, you can expect a neutral perspective of understanding and insight that is different from others in your life.  The reason why this matters, is from a neutral outside perspective, it helps to find the blindspots in your vision that might be standing between you and the vision you have for your life. Once the trouble area's are spotted, then together you and I can work toward the goals that you want. The process starts with the courage  to take the first step of your journey and reach out for therapy. This can feel scary, exciting, overwhelming, or all of them at once. You want to feel confident that the hard work you put in will be worth the effort and pay off.

A lot of individuals or families that I work with are seeking to restore missing balance , and bring in emotional health through increased confidence, better relaxation, increased positive moods, increased success at school and/or work, increased harmony in family relationships, increased overall calmness, increased life satisfaction,  decreasing emotional "calm down" time, decreased anger or aggression, and overall increased quality of life that can be all be experienced through the use of  the tools that happen in the therapy room and eventually translate into everyday life.

Some of the common issues that the individuals or families who I work with, can be as varied as school or work performance issues, anxiety, sleep trouble, low moods, trouble with concentration, trouble with attention, symptoms related to ADHD, symptoms related to Autism, family conflict,  social skill development, developmental disabilities,  difficulty with calming after feeling big emotions, hyperactivity,  parenting challenges, sibling relationships, parent-child relationships, learning problems, low self esteem, lack of self confidence, excessive worry, and more. In some cases, individuals already have an established therapist and want to  supplement talk therapy to be more effective with extra support through Neurofeedback.

The therapy modalities I use are Neurofeedback, trauma informed approaches, TheraPlay, Play therapy, AutPlay, DBT,  CBT, ACT, and other techniques and methods. I have seen these tools work  time and again, to bring relief, change, and growth.  Some client's feedback has been, a feeling of safety, feeling seen and heard, and looking forward to their sessions, throughout their therapy process.  Whatever your circumstance in life, the personal goals that you identify and want for yourself, your child , or family, are the things we will work on together to create changes that lead you to a better experience in your relationships and life.
